Southern Utah in November

We love this vacation! TB and I went in 2003 and hit all three national parks in the area and just loved how we had all of it to ourselves because it was the off-season. This year, we stayed at Boulder Mountain Lodge and ate all of our meals at Hell's Backbone Grill (really great) and Boulder Mesa Restaurant (very friendly). We hiked around Capitol Reef to see beautiful vistas, Indian art, and a pioneer village and orchard.Isaac is still focused on trains, so he spent a lot of time explaining how this little walkway was like a tunnel. We drove along the MOST SCENIC road (panoramic views, drop-offs on both sides, didn't make me car sick) to Calf Creek Falls for a peaceful hike past Indian writings and ruins to a wonderful waterfall. This is TB at the falls seven years ago. It's very beautiful and TB is happy and serene.Ah ha! Even better...And the mom couldn't be happier either. Bryce Canyon National Park was on the agenda, but we didn't make it there this time because we just loved the food in Boulder and the hot tub at the lodge. It was just us and the locals in Boulder, which is why it's worth it to bundle up and take a chance with the weather.
You know how I love to include videos of TB and Isaac hiking in the beautiful places we go. Here's the first installment of the series that includes Isaac on his own feet. Amazing!

What great hikers! The scene looks a little less serene, but probably more fun.
