Payson and Nephi Museums

We went to the Peeteetneet Museum in Payson and got a personal tour from a very friendly retired nurse (Jovie is wild about nurses right now!) Ikey walked right up to the ladies lounging in the office to ask if they had any dinosaurs, and was the candy on the counter just for the ladies that work there? They had a great Western room with lots of cool belt buckles, paintings, sculptures and chairs made of tractor seats and horse shoes.

Jovie and I especially liked the Fashion room that had a lot of flapper dresses. There was a School room and a Victorian room and a History of Writing room. At the end of the tour, Jovie asked if the candy in the office was for kids who were very good and didn't touch anything.
We headed south to Nephi to eat at JC Mickelsons. The place is full of model trains. Ikey chased the trains all around the restaurant, and only sat by us when his chicken noodle soup arrived. He was in heaven.

Ikey didn't think I could catch a picture of Thomas the Tankengine because he was going so fast, but I'm a quick draw.

Next stop was the Daughter of Utah Pioneers Museum in Nephi. Once again, we had a private tour from a very nice woman. Ikey asked a million questions. Jovie asked if she could touch everything. Ikey asked if they had any train displays. The guide said they didn't, but he found about 20 train items, so I guess you just have to be a railfan to understand that.
An old train toy. The guide said Ikey could walk up next to it, but I think that's just asking for him to move into the museum.

The territorial jail (used from 1890s to 1974) is just behind the museum. Ikey was a little nervous about it, but we assured him that we wouldn't lock him in.

This is a very good adventure that's within an hour and a half of our house.
