After the game, we headed up to Farmington with OUR fingers crossed that the trains would be running, because the park doesn't have a website or a phone number or anything, so we were just guessing.
Hooray! It's open, and no one else knows so we have the whole place to ourselves. |
This is the little train which goes on a 20 minute circuit. Our locomotive was a diesel engine this time, but they run real coal-fired steam engines later in the summer.
Video of small train ride, over the bridge: http://youtu.be/FCrccVqjkZsVideo of small train ride, bikers choo-choo-ed at us so we did it back http://youtu.be/MEmtd-A-S8k
This is the big train ride which is about a 15 minute ride. |
We brought lunches in lunch boxes. I wasn't sure if TB was coming until the last second so I didn't make lunches for the grownups because they kids usually leave behind enough food for me. TB was disappointed with that plan. And he was hungry.
The little handcar route is so cute! Ikey is a speed demon and Jovie was just out for a leisurely ride.
No surprise, he caught her every time. He's a skilled enough driver that he never did crash though. |
