Tour of Utah: Stage 6

We're at Autograph Alley waiting for the bikers to arrive.

We love Dave Zabriskie! He's the only American to have won a stage in the three European grand Tours: the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, and Vuelta Espana.  He's a local too and he recognizes us when we scream at him.

 Chris Horner rode by in the yellow jersey.

 Jens Voigt is a father of six and a hugely popular rider. We didn't get any closer than this. =(

Tom Danielson won the Tour of Utah three hours after I took this picture of him. Lots of people are hugely successful after I take a picture of them. It's called the Burrows Bump. 

 Remember when he hugged me two years ago? That, plus the photo-taking event this morning pretty much lead to the inevitable win of this six-day, 586-mile, all-pro bike race.

Yes, he insisted on hugging the 35-year-old version of me as well.

Here's evidence of Mancebo's Burrows Bump as I took a photo with him four years ago. He did win the whole race the next year, and now the last stage of this year. You're welcome, Paco.

We were not stalking the athletes, just innocently walking by their buses and discreetly looking in windows. Ikey struck a pose by the Cannondale rig as he now rides for the team.

Someone handed me a (professionally!) used water bottle with a little Gatorade left it in, and I was happy. Thanks Mitch for the VIP tickets again this year!
