116th Miner's Day Celebration in Park City

Can you believe that Park City has celebrated Miner's Day for 116 years? We'll join a good old party any day! We met Pete and Dan on the parade route.
This is a good small-town parade with lots of police cars, jeeps, and motorcycles, a rodeo queen, candidates for mayor, the poodle group, a karate team, the high school band, and the Camaro club.

We walked up the parade route and down the river walk. We watched crazy skateboarders at the skate park.
We banged on the music installation with sticks. It was only slightly musical.
Jovie jumped right in to the gunny sack race. I don't think she's ever seen a gunny sack race, but she is quite a vigorous jumper.
Jovie recruited Dan to help her at the wheelbarrow race. They were quite a team.
We ate peanuts on the grass and watched all the races and jammed to a band. We met up with Mitch and walked to Park City Mountain Resort to get our ski passes for next season and a couple of kid-sized beanies.

We headed to The Canyons and got passes there too. We ate really good food at Edges at The Canyons with Pete and Dan. Then we headed home to do laundry and get ready for real life (school!) tomorrow.
