Greek Festival

The day started out with the kids cutting cardboard boxes apart. They use their little tools and they just love this activity. If only we had Styrofoam...
We took Mitch to the Greek Festival. None of the grownups had been in the last decade. We toured the church which was beautiful and saw a lot of cool things in the Hellenic Museum (the first - and maybe only - ethnic Greek museum in the country). We ate a lot of good food too.
Jovie was very excited to try the calamari tentacles. Ikey was worried they'd latch onto his tongue. A few minutes after Jovie started chewing, she said she just couldn't swallow it, so the little legs didn't go down her throat. She spit them out and I noticed that squid tentacles are pretty resilient to toddler teeth.
Me: Ikey, did you like the baklava?
Ikey: I liked it, except the nail-shaped thing. It was spicy!
That's a clove. It is spicy.
