First day of school (kind of...)

It was open house day at preschool, so it was kind of the first day of school for the little tots. They both met their teacher and did their assessment last week, and they have yet to go to the class without me, so it's hard to say if today was the first day or not.
We dressed up and drove to school with a little time to spare. The open house started 50 minutes later than school will start, so we're actually probably in a little trouble when it comes to our morning routine which is a little long on lounging and short on hustle. I guess we'll learn.

Ikey carried a box of graham crackers and his photo album project in his backpack. He did a good job on his project, choosing all the pictures himself and cutting and gluing them himself and writing all the words. I helped with layout so that everything fit on the page, and I made him include a picture of me. Jovie just had water in her backpack, but she tells me that she wants to bring snacks from now on.
TB had to take off to do work that he insists on doing, so we walked home. It's a little over a mile and it took a half hour. I'm hoping we can do it faster in the future, hopefully not ever slower.
