Christmas Eve

I spent the morning making decorations out of our favorite snow-like concoction.
TB and I took turns running on errands because the kids were playing so nicely at home, which they have not been allowed to do this month because I am running them crazy. I have truly loved it. They have truly been crazy.

We've always had a big Christmas Eve celebration at Faucheux's home. We started the party really early this year so the children wouldn't be too out of hand. It worked a little. The kids were quite talented in the nativity play. Isaac was a Wise Man and Jovie was Mary.
Jovie was very reverent and kept her benevolent face on without fail. Isaac brought a toy car as a gift.
The three ladies were Mary, a Shepherd, and the Angel. Quite lovely!

Four sisters: Laura, Aimee, Nikki, Caitlin. We missed Toby and Doris, but they were off at a water park in Wisconsin (sounds crazy, I know.)
We ate gumbo and lots of desserts.
We exchanged gifts. Nikki gave everyone a (root?)beer can chicken cooker. Mom gave us a Wallace Photo Book. Popa sent everyone on a super-tricky treasure hunt. Caitie made me a puzzle keeper (she knows me so well!) and cross-stitched this adorable family portrait.
Popa entertained us all with "The Cajun Night Before Christmas".
We started and finished a BYU football puzzle, did some caroling sing-alongs and recorded a Harlem Shake movie.
It was really fun and messy and I just can't wait until our next Christmas Eve party.
All the families dressed their little ones in PJs and headed home. Ikey fell asleep in the car and was tucked in bed when he heard Jovie's insistent voice that she needed some cookies and milk and carrots for Santa. The kids prepared Santa's plate and checked that their stockings were just right.

We tucked the kids in and they fell asleep in an instant. It was a very fun Christmas Eve.
