Amazingly, Isaac is five years old! Jovie and I went to school with him and brought a treat (chocolate milk and Ikea cookies).
Dad joined the party for snack time.
I hadn't planned a real party for him, but at naptime he said, "There are children coming for my birthday, aren't there?" So I called his grandparents, cousins and aunts and all the well ones (Grandma Rainey and Ross, Grandpa Joe and Grandma Pat and the Wans) came over for chicken noodle soup and chocolate pie.

It was a delightful and low-key day with our delightful boy.
