Little America Coffee Shop and Grand America Treasure Hunt

Isaac, Jovie, Todd, Rainey, Ross, MJ
We love this downtown field trip, we've been doing it for years! Little America Coffee Shop just reopened after a major redecorating project and it is so nice. There are the most interesting historical photos of  Salt Lake City and the prettiest tile work. We tagged along on Rainey and Ross's breakfast trip.

The kids adopted "Grandma MJ". If you're a kind lady that might be a grandma, they'll ask to join your family.

We walked across Main Street to Grand America to see the biggest gingerbread house they've ever had.
We worked diligently on the treasure hunt in their decorated windows and earned a treat at the end.
We made some gingerbread houses too. I used frozen homemade dough from last year (not for eating!) and a cute little cookie cutter that makes tiny cookies for house assembly. We used Elmer's Glue since they were already off the menu, but Jovie's didn't stick together. Her gingerbread house was in an earthquake. Ikey invented a sleigh with candy cane runners.
