On Friday (not too early!), we headed up to Canyons to see if we can ski. Pete and Dan were on the mountain, so we called them when we arrived at the parking lot, and again once we got to the High Meadow lift. They were shocked at how much time elapsed between the calls, but the process just takes a long time, what with the gloves, helmets, coats, boots, skis, Cabriolet, gondola... and the preschoolers.
We were excited to see that Isaac remembers how to ski from last year and he seemed pretty good on the beginner hill. Jovie was surprisingly good too. Pete was helpful as an instructor and Dan was a great photojournalist.
Here's a movie with all the action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcXexC93Jto&feature=youtu.be
After a few runs, the girls headed to Red Pine Lodge for a treat and the boys made another run. Then it was time for Pete and Dan's Christmas Eve party which involved a kids table (nine kids all nice to each other!), fish stew, and lots of desserts.
We stayed at their house overnight and helped them celebrate Christmas the next morning. It was snowing gently and they made delicious pancakes and it was quite festive.
We hit the slopes again on Sunday and had even more fun with even better skiing!
