We are considering the name Adeline for baby April. A survey of people named Adeline say that the most common complaint about the name is that "old people" sing the Elliot Smith song "Sweet Adeline" too much. I asked TB if he knew the song and he started singing "Sweet Adeline, good times have never been so good" (to the tune of Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond). Then he tried "Oh my darlin' oh my darlin' oh my darlin' Adeline" to the tune of ...Clementine. I sang "She'll be comin' round the mountain, Adeline" but he said that song was already about a girl named Shelby. HA! HA! Maybe you didn't know that TB can sing a jingle for almost any situation.
Now some stories about a smaller funny guy. Isaac plays the piano every day. Mostly he turns on some rhythm setting and dances. He just came up with a new little shimmy accompanied by jazz hands. In this video, he's watching TB dance at first, then he joins in.
He's missing a shoe in these videos because he took one off and hid it. He likes to take things from where they belong to wherever he wants them to be. I found a little shoe a couple of hours later in my closet.
He always reads on his morning commute - usually the Money section of the paper.

Here's a video of the baby sitting on the floor in only a diaper, eating Lucky Charms while lecturing TB and me about something. I just wanted to document that he's a bossy little sucker, and I'm not the perfect mother that you all think I am.

Little Baby April
We have some new pictures and video of baby April. She is kind of little: 41st percentile for 32-week-old-but-not-quite-here-yet babies, although her head is nice and big. We love these big brained kiddos.
This is her cute little profile. She looks just like Isaac we think.
This is a picture of her cute face. The top of her forehead is on the right margin. You can see eyes, nose, lips and chin. Like she's just looking over her chest at you. Todd said, "She's got chubby cheeks!" The ultrasound tech said, "She's kind of squished in there, you might look like that too."

"Mowing" the Sidewalk
Isaac went for a walk "by himself" for the first time today. We brought his lawn mower for some extra balance. He was so cute, he didn't fall down once, and he sure didn't want to turn onto our sidewalk to go home.

Baby tricks
Isaac learns new tricks really quickly so of course we think he's the smartest baby ever. My mom keeps telling me that he's not a dog, which I know of course, but boy are these cool tricks.
His first "chore" is to take his clean laundry to his room. We showed him this a couple of times, and he did it spontaneously this week. He didn't use a pacifier much when he was a baby, but he gets into the bottle drawer and chews on anything he finds there.
He likes to hide out a couple of times a day. Luckily the closet door is squeaky so he's easy to find when he chooses this spot.
He likes to give lectures on things: how to use a cell phone, where the toys in his room go, etc. When he woke up from nap the other day, he seemed to be giving a discourse on correct bowing procedure.
He knows some sign language words and he can palm a beach ball. What diverse talents he has!
He had a good time at his first Jazz game, once we put ear plugs on him.
His hair is so curly! It's a little mullet-y, but I've resolved not to cut it until it's too crazy. .jpg)
He received two hats for Christmas this year. He especially likes to wear them in his tent. This hat from Aunt Caitie is so soft. He cuddles any soft thing like this.
