Merry Christmas

Winter

When we drove by the Heber airport, we pointed it out to Ikey and told him about the "hangars" which were like garages for the airplanes. He's been to Ross's hangar, so we thought for sure he got it. A couple days later, he dragged me over to the kitchen to see his "airplane hanger". Ha Ha! Check out the little toy airplane hanging in the cabinet hardware. He's got a great big chocolately smile. I love to go out to breakfast. We headed to Little America Coffeeshop. It was awesome. Ikey had a good view of the trains from our table.

Beanie doesn't ever wear a hat for very long. Ikey introduces us to some special guests at the hotel.

We took the little sweeties out to Millcreek Canyon to try skiing. Ikey used a pair of wooden skis from my childhood. Luckily, TB helped propel him so he didn't need the bamboo poles this time, which is lucky since we couldn't get his thumbs to go in the right place in his mittens. He traded ski stories with these two racers from the The Utah Nordic Alliance. TB has a big job with cleaning off our long driveway.

Isaac was pushing the Swiffer around the kitchen saying, "Gotta get mouse poop." TB was shocked and said, "What do you talk about all day?" I thought that was good evidence of my working hard and keeping our home in the middle of the woods nice and clean.

In the car with the whole family, Isaac said, "Dinosaurs found diamonds in the cave." That's a reference to an episode of Dinosaur Train - maybe you've seen it? I said, "That's right, like diamonds in mom's ring." Isaac said, "Dada is mom's best friend. That was so nice of dada to give mom a diamond ring." I was so glad that TB was there to hear more examples of the good information that I give these kids everyday. And Isaac is right...

Funny!

I'm trying to get Jovie to take a bottle once in a while. Ikey watched me put a scoop of formula in a cup and said, "What's this? You put crumbs in Beanie's milky-milk."

He's 2 now, so I guess I'll just plan on funny things happening all the time.

Southern Utah in November

We love this vacation! TB and I went in 2003 and hit all three national parks in the area and just loved how we had all of it to ourselves because it was the off-season. This year, we stayed at Boulder Mountain Lodge and ate all of our meals at Hell's Backbone Grill (really great) and Boulder Mesa Restaurant (very friendly). We hiked around Capitol Reef to see beautiful vistas, Indian art, and a pioneer village and orchard.Isaac is still focused on trains, so he spent a lot of time explaining how this little walkway was like a tunnel. We drove along the MOST SCENIC road (panoramic views, drop-offs on both sides, didn't make me car sick) to Calf Creek Falls for a peaceful hike past Indian writings and ruins to a wonderful waterfall.This is TB at the falls seven years ago. It's very beautiful and TB is happy and serene.Ah ha! Even better...And the mom couldn't be happier either. Bryce Canyon National Park was on the agenda, but we didn't make it there this time because we just loved the food in Boulder and the hot tub at the lodge. It was just us and the locals in Boulder, which is why it's worth it to bundle up and take a chance with the weather.
