Baby Dances

Isaac is a good mover. Here he is dancing with Grandma.

Isaac "ran" his first race with me last week at the Gerald Anderson Memorial 5K (the best race in Morgan, Utah!) I passed him off to Grandma Rainey with about a half mile to go and they had a great finish. He sits up better every day and took his first bath in the big tub. The water looks yellow (mostly) because of the yellow chair. He smelled clean after this bath anyway.

Here he is dancing in the jumpster. It seems like this move has a ballet name. Jete? Sometimes it looks like he's clicking his heels a la Dancing in the Rain.

Speaking of rain, it was coming down in sheets for TB's big birthday BBQ so everyone just cozied up inside. I made a large retrospective photo collage of TB's life on a wall in the front room. I just wanted to show off what a good-looking and adventurous husband I have. I think it looked pretty cool and his family and friends had a good time looking back at all this. Now I don't want to take it down!

TB and I went for a fantastic dinner at Cucina Toscana last week too. Isaac may have watched "So You Think You Can Dance" with his Aunt Nikki. Thi photo is funny because it looks like there are just glasses and no food.

The little guy usually has his fingers in his mouth, especially lately as his tooth was coming in. I thought this was a funny way to fall asleep. Isaac can stand up when he's holding on to something. He's been doing this for about a month, but I needed a "spotter" so I could take a picture. The spotter (TB) got distracted (I think by ice cream), and the baby took his first tumble. Isaac and his dad were totally fine about it, but this mom will have to get tougher quick.
I just think this guy is cute and happy!

He's getting better at eating, but I guess I still bug him. I call this movie "Irritated by Mom".

What a poser!

Just eating and talking

TB says that this is Isaac cleaning his plate. He actually likes these little graham cracker pieces when I feed them to him, but he's never put one in his own mouth.

Isaac's first word was "hi" when he was about an hour old. Last weekend, he said his first sentence: "I like that." I'll keep trying to get it on video, but for now he mostly likes to make raspberry noises when he's got a camera in front of him. Don't be scared by the growling noises at the end of this movie. He's so cute and sweet, then he sounds like a monster.

His bottom tooth made its first showing on Saturday, and I was so glad to know why the cheerful baby was grumpy last week. We're so glad that he feels better this week.

In other news, it's rained at our house every day for almost two weeks. The tomato and zucchini plants haven't grown at all, and the peonies got a little beat up by hail. Our basement hasn't leaked and I still love this yard.

What's for dinner?
