The new house

We bought a house on a hill near Bonneville Golf Course.
It has a half acre of mostly grass in our favorite neighborhood.
The house was built in 1956 and it's a mid-century modern beauty!

...with a really bad kitchen.
So we've got our work cut out for us.
Luckily, the kids love renovating.

High School Reunion

Carbon High School Class of 1994
20 year reunion
Alumni and families dressed up in blue and white and broke out the old Dino-spirit gear for the International Days parade. We had two fire trucks and lots of candy to toss out.

Alumni families met at the park in the middle of the International Days carnival and car show. We had treats and prizes for the kids.

We took a tour of the high school to reminisce about the lunch room, the library (no one remembers going to the library, and it didn't have computers back then) and the back hall where fights always broke out.
We had 100 people at the alumni dinner at Carbon Country Club. It looked so good with blue and white decorations, a tasteful memorial, and lots of good food. We had a photo booth and music and dance lights out on the patio. The party started at 6 pm, everybody stayed until 10pm, and the party was still going at midnight when I left.
The reunion committee: Genna, Becky, Janice, Aimee
Our first meeting about the reunion was in July 2013. We put in a lot of hours and all reports are that the reunion was fun and successful.
Friends: Carolyn, Alison, Kelly, Rosalyn, Amber, Heather, Helene, Aimee

Stacey and Aimee. It's possible that I spent more time with Stacey than anyone else in high school. I really liked her back then, and she's just moved back to Utah with her cool husband and I'm so glad to be friends with her again.
TB and Aimee. We go way back, but not all the way back to high school.

Party at the Power Plant

Faucheux Deux was in town for a little summer vacation, so the 'rents hosted a bbq at the hydropower plant in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The Burrows moved out of the Holladay house in the morning and showed up in the canyon in hot, sweaty, grouchy, and tired mode. Well, anyway, the party was good and the company was great!

Vacation in Park City

The Faucheuxes invited us to stay at a resort in Park City, so we took a break from sorting through junk at our house and played with cousins.

Deer Valley Music Festival and the funicular

Ikey and I went to hear the music of John Williams at the Deer Valley Music Festival and we loved it. The little boy nearly fell asleep.
Ikey spotted the funicular going up and down the mountain, and it seemed a little train-like so we walked over to take a ride.
Ikey's illustration of the resort and the funicular. It really pretty much looks like this.

It's so luxurious with a big leather couch and cool curved windows!

Can you see the crowd on the hill enjoying "The March of the Imperial Soldiers"?

Happy Birthday to ME

We had breakfast at Village Inn, then naptime, then junk organizing time, then bbq at Pete and Dan's in Park City. Oh fun!

Dancing in Millcreek Parade

We wore red, white and blue and we danced. Ikey danced especially well, even though he said he had stage fright.

Summer Reading

Ikey found an old Hardy Boys book at Grandma's house.
He relaxes with a Magic School Bus book while Jovie stretches out and holds his hair.
We've been looking at a lot of houses since we're expecting to sell ours this month. The yard of this house was a "magical fairy forest".

Patriotic T shirt

I caught a glimpse of a very familiar Tshirt on an Old Navy commercial.
Do you remember Ikey's Aimee-designed and handmade Tshirt from last summer. Someone at Old Navy must have seen us last year in Coronado because they kind of ripped me off!
