Now we're in trouble

Jovie climbed out of her crib and opened her bedroom door during naptime yesterday. I put her back in the crib. She said, "Again?" and climbed right out. We turned her crib into a toddler bed last night and took the handle off her doorknob so we can lock her in. She fell out of bed once, but stayed in her room with no crying. Wish me luck at naptime today.

Winter's beginning!

Jovie took swimming lessons and LOVED IT, mostly the dressing up part. She loved swimming as long as I was holding her and the teacher wasn't.

TB and I do get dressed up and go places together occasionally. Here's proof...
I think Ikey may want to try skeleton at the Olympic Park. He's very brave at Costco anyway.
On Ikey's birthday, we went out for breakfast at Silver Fork Lodge, his choice. He wanted to go back the next day too.

He's choking me! He loves me a lot.

Rocket Man and Ice Cream Cone celebrated Ikey's December birthday in costumes, of course.
Our house is decorated with lots of lights and shiny ornaments and stars. Come see it! We're handing out chocolate and gingerbread men too.
This isn't our house. This is Festival of Trees.

The Sneetches

Our family and my sisters' families performed "The Sneetches" by Dr Seuss at Ikey's birthday party. Watch the video by clicking here.

Happy Birthday Isaac!

He's such a big boy now! Three years old and running around in skinny jeans. He is such a sweet and smart and fun little boy and I can't believe we've known him for three whole years! He is an angel at our house and a spirited boy around friends and family and we wouldn't change him for the world.
He was DONE by the end of his party.

TB says it's a little self-indulgent to have the birthday boy jump out of cake, but Ikey really wanted to do it, and Jovie did too. So I'm an indulgent mother. I just looked up indulgent on dictionary.com and I'd rather be a synonym of that word than an antonym.

Excuse you?

Ikey sneezed at lunch. I said, "Say 'Excuse me.'"
Ikey said, "'Excuse me' also is a nice way to say 'Get out of my way.'"
Ha ha! That was funny.
The next day, Jovie sneezed and said, "Get out of my way." That was hilarious!

Wizard of Oz

My family put on this fantastic little-kids version of The Wizard of Oz in September. The video production value is not very good, but the kids were awesome. It is 26 MINUTES LONG so you'll only want to watch this if you are related to a bunch of people in the play. You know who you are. Click here to see it.
Wicked Witch (missing hat and broom)
Scarecrow (also "Scarecrow" for Halloween)

Jovie Adeline Burrows

Damages

Ikey came out of his room after naptime and said, "I think there's a crack on my wall." He pointed this out to me and said, "It was a small crack, but I made it a bigger crack."

Happy Harvest

Ikey asked me about the lemon zester, so I showed him how it worked. I said, "That's pretty awesome, isn't it?" He said, "You're pretty and dad's awesome!"

Jovie put on one of Ikey's cowboy boots (by herself!). She came up to me and said, "Ikey's boots. Wear 'em."

In other fantastic news: Ikey is potty trained! I finally decided to put some effort into it and now he's so grown up! There was really only 1.5 days where I thought I would go crazy. I didn't.

More Halloween-y stuff

It was leaf-shoveling day in our yard. Everyone helped!

We bundled up and headed to Red Butte Garden to paint pumpkins, make mushroom decorations, and glow in the dark.

Todd's fortune cookie says...

So that's good news...

Funny things the kids say...

Aimee: Will you stop screeching?
Isaac: I don't want to stop screeching. I want to keep on screeching.

I placed my order at the microphone at a fast food drive through (no fries though!)
Isaac: Is that a food walkie talkie?

Isaac: Oh crud! I'm never doing that again.

Jovie holds up a stuffed puppy toy, "Puppy has  a tail." She looks at a stuffed bat toy, "No bat tail."

Ikey told me that he wanted a blue semi for his potty training prize. Jovie said, "I want purple semi."

She held a teddy bear up to her head, "White bear eating hair."

She put a felt rainbow on her head and when it fell off she said, "Rainbow hat fell down."

Fall 2011

The kids were helping TB install a new dishwasher. Ikey was in charge of holding the flashlight.

He eventually put the flashlight on the floor to free up his fingers to hold dad's ear. Luckily, they lost interest in helping soon enough so TB could finish. Jovie is pretty good with a screwdriver!

Grandma Pat made this cute costume.
I told Ikey to stick his face through the bars. Like a real elephant might have, he stuck his trunk through.

Jovie checks out the scene at Barnyard Boo at Thanksgiving Point.

The kids worked diligently to cover their pumpkin in stickers at Abi and Bo's party. Jovie decorated the stem with the cap from the bottle of glue.

Get me out please. Please.

Green basil down there...

Halloween River Cruise

We took cousin Dallin on the Provo River Cruise. We brought our own life jackets because the kids just keep so small

The kids liked it, and luckily, we just barely dressed warm enough. They were a little surprised when a priate jumped on the boat.
We took this goofball to dinner at Village Inn in Provo after this adventure.

Breakfast with a Witch

We attended Breakfast with a Witch at Gardner Village with friends. It was a little expensive if you compare it to just buying breakfast for the kids, but it was more entertaining than that. I'd say that it was a little too busy the day we went. I'd probably skip breakfast next time and just do the scavenger hunt.

Ikey the scarecrow. I don't think this makeup is accurate, but check out the crow on his hat. =)
I dreamed up this Pocahontas costume based on these cute slippers.
