Snowman

TB and Ikey made a snowman in our yard. The fluffy, dry, powdery snow is awesome for skiing, but doesn't stick together well enough to make a snowman taller than the two-year-old. He has a carrot nose and chocolate-covered espresso bean buttons. After snowman construction, we took the kids to a fancy Italian restaurant (we should have nixed that plan when they told us they didn't have high chairs) where Ikey was NUTS. Luckily, we were early so the restaurant was pretty empty and Ikey's very charming while NUTS or we might have been kicked out. After he squished THREE butter packages, he held up his greasy hands and said/yelled, "It's kaka!" TB and I don't say "kaka" so who knows where he got that from. We survived it without too much embarrassment or broken dishes.
That evening, we were reviewing Ikey's day and he said, "We made a snowman. I ate a button." Ah HA! No more espresso beans for the baby.

Funny

I just think Ikey is hilarious. He entertains me all day long.
Jovie was chewing on her collar. Ikey said, "Beansey, polka dot pajamas are not for eating. They're just for looking at."
He was sitting in his toy shopping cart when it tipped over. He looked up and deadpanned, "That was not great."
I was reading a Newsweek magazine. Ikey looked at a big picture of Mitt Romney and said, "This guy is Jon Stewart."
I asked him what shape a light fixture was, he said "Circle." I said, "Actually, it's a square." He recovered well: "Kind of looks like a circle."
If he sounds too bossy or whiny (or says "Go away Mommy" - where did he learn that?!), I'll say, "Don't talk that way, please be nice." He'll say, "You're a good lady." or "You're the best mom."
"Ikey and Bean are good friends together - like Buzz and Woody."
"Green and brown are good colors together. They're funky."
"I usually look like Justin Bieber."
"Why am I up-side-down? I'm so confused."
He asks to hear stories about everything. He says. "Do you want to tell me a story about a green balloon?" I asked him to tell me a story about a napkin. Here it is, and I'm not kidding or embellishing. "Once upon a time there was a napkin. It loved Ikey. It was happy. The end."

Beanie can say Mama, Dada, AHHH, and tickle-tickle-tickle. She doesn't sit still on my lap for storytime like Ikey did - and does.

Talents

Isaac is a great cook! He likes to count and pour and even helps clean up. We've made a cake with frosting, brownies, hot chocolate, scones, and bread pudding.
Here is a glimpse of his singing talent.

Subtitles: In this life, one thing counts: in the bank, large amounts. I'm afraid these don't grow on trees. You've got to pick a pocket or two, boys. Robin Hood, what a crook. Gave away what he took. Charity's fine, subscribe to mine. You've got to pick a pocket or two, boys. Why should we break our backs, stupidly paying tax? Better get some untaxed income. You've got to pick a pocket or two, boys.

Beanie's talents include cheering everybody up with her happy personality and sneaking Ikey's favorite toys when he's not looking.

Plus, she's just darn cute!
