Utah Museum of Fine Art

The little artists began the day drawing pictures on the easel. Ikey drew a new pattern on his locomotive, and called it a jail train. He drew several jail trains today.

We went to the Utah Museum of Fine Art on the University of Utah campus. We picked up a family activity backpack for the India exhibit. We learned about Ganesha, Vishnu, Shiva, Parvati, mudras, gold leafing. We made a lot of musical noise with the museum-issued damaru and a singing bowl.
It's hard to take good pictures at the museum because you can't use a flash.

Ikey said he'd pose like he was going to school.

We ate lunch on the sunny and warm Museum Cafe patio. I told the kids that their dad went to college at the University of Utah. Ikey yelled, "Dad went to college!?" The college kids sitting by us laughed about that. We spent about three hours at the Museum and we'll definitely go back and use one of the other family activity backpacks.
Ikey saw this painting from across the gallery and ran over and started teling me about the trains in the copper mine. I read the description and found he was right.
